LX has not refunded to Chase/Expedia as far as I know. However somehow after a second chat rep who resubmitted the refund request thru the "right dept" at Chase Travel, points were refunded after almost 2 weeks - but it was with a different case number, not the same as issued at the first chat, and not the one as issued at the second chat.

Then a couple weeks after the points back to account, got an email from Chase Travel about LX has responded that we have flight credits - one for each ticket, and Chase would further contact us once they learn about the restriction on the flight credit - as we all know, airlines do not issue both refund and flight credit - based on the LX forum refund thread, the whole LH Groups are steadfastly refusing to refund canceled flights, even on fully refundable tickets.

Hence I have reason to think the points returned from LX canceled flight is a lucky break - may be due to LH putting back the refund function in GDS system so the travel agents could choose this and system automatically processes it. The first chat rep told me this function was disabled as in her words "the itinerary is qualified for a refund but the system would not let me submit the request."

There is a lengthy thread in LX forum on how people are fighting for their refunds with little success.
