Until I called to question the messages. It appeared as a future trip in the "My Trips" section. There was a message of "There has been a change to your future flight." But it did not say "canceled flight." I guess i could have checked the flight right at the time the changes were being made. It just seemed strange. I asked United on Saturday and again this AM to please send/resend the cancellation email but have not received anything yet. We were traveling with another couple and as of today (AM) they still have not received any communication about the flight from United.

I guess I'll chalk it up to a communication lag during this time where flight volumes are changing and will wait on the refund.
