The numbers in support of caution are too high in the US to just be the left, and that's what is really being advocated, not total lock-down. My home state, Wisconsin, is gradually opening up with restrictions and so far it is working -- the daily numbers are slowly declining. Clearly in Arizona, which didn't ever lock down fully and opened up prematurely in the opinion of many, it is not working.

I'm not worried about the jobs and small businesses -- the economy will recover eventually, and other small businesses will replace those that fail. I think saving lives should be the first consideration.
