Using Hertz SUV for local moving

I'm going to be doing a local move soon and after reading the horror stores about U-haul and other companies with moving vans/trucks, I decided to consider other options including using a Hertz SUV or van. to do the move. I'm going to be moving the big stuff with professional movers but I will be acquiring some free furniture (yay!) from other places and will move the small stuff myself and I need about a 7 ft. length (think something like a cat tower) to be confident the free stuff will fit inside a vehicle. I don't have a lot of experience with SUVs or passenger vans so I need to know if those darn mid/back row seats can be pushed down or removed temporarily on models Hertz commonly uses in its fleet. I'd like opinions if you think this is workable or not. Thanks!
