Since Friday nights now mean a night on the sofa (actually, that's not much different than pre-COVID), I often watch the Bond films which seem to be on a cycle on ITV4.
Anyway, watching Moonraker from 1979 this evening - the scene in Rio with the ambulance going up the hill really marks the first time product placement is really obvious in a Bond movie (the ambulance passes billboards for 7-Up, Seiko and a brand of cigarettes). The final of the scene is the evil henchman falling out of the ambulance on a stretcher, and crashing into a BA billboard.
I've never understood why the billboard was in English in a Lusophone country...
And rather interestingly Bond flies Air France to Rio, not BA.
