I just checked my physical card that's been sat in a drawer for the last 3 months, and it says 'valid until 08/21'. I also re-read the email, which very explicitly tells me 'we’ve added 12 months extra onto your Gold Executive Club membership'.

I'm really struggling to see how this can reasonably be interpreted as anything other than 'your status is now valid until 08/22'.
