Yes, I can book JAL revenue flights on those days (July 18-25) when looking on JAL.co.jp and Kayak.

I'm seeing the same thing, could be an aa.com glitch. There always seem to be funky stuff going on with intra-Japan awards on JL. Just give AA a call and see if an agent can see the space and/or book it.
