You should never cancel a reservation with a cert attached as it may take days for the cert to be returned, if at all.
Click on View Reservation, then Modify. Scroll down, then pick the same room type and it will ask how you want to pay. Choose pts (or pts advance if that's an option). Cert should be redeposited immediately. You should now be able to cancel your reservation and your points will be returned.
I just tried to switch a reservation currently attached to a cert to points prior to canceling, but when I clicked "modify", it didn't give me the option to change anything, including switching to points. Is there a button hidden somewhere that I am not seeing?
