For *G members, the staralliance.com website (under "Loyalty Benefits > Star Alliance Benefits) lists the extra baggage allowance as:

"Extra Baggage Allowance - an additional 20kg (44 pounds) or one additional piece of luggage (note 3) which means you can check in three bags instead of two."

(note 3) says, "Applies on flights between North and South America"


Huh? I thought the PIECE concept (as opposed to the weight concept) allowance was for flights *anywhere* to/from North America. (perhaps it's also to/from South America, I don't know about that.)

Shouldn't that read something like 'flights to/from North and South America'?

I'd hate to check in for a flight from the US to Europe and have somebody try and enforce the wording the way it's currently on the website!

Have I misunderstood something, or is the wording wrong?
