It's my impression that France/Germany will hobble though the rest of year focusing on tourism from within the EU vs dealing with the most infected country in the world.
Anyway, I saw a memo on the DOT site: instructing airlines to revise their customer service policies and respond to refund requests (after they rec'd 25K complaints). UA has added more supervisor/manager staff for customers to talk to about their individual situations. Which I did. The UA manager I spoke would not provide a confirmation nor would he confirm that he could authorize a refund. But he mentioned several times the refund "would likely go through" but it would take a month to see the credit. , but he couldn't confirm in writing my refund request. Told me that email confirmations can only be received if you cancel/refund request online. All I got was a confirmation of a cancelled flight & a receipt for the full amount of the ticket.

I'm concerned about waiting 3 weeks to find out about the refund. The man I spoke to said I could call in and they could reach him or someone else could speak with me.
Do you have any advice for me?

Many thanks.
what's the big deal here ? You message is hard to understand. Did you request a refund from United, yes or no ? If yes, how did you request the refund ? By phone, email or web form ?
