Best: A 2020 Hyundai Sonata that we had for a little over a month while our van was in for repairs. We got it with about 305 miles on it, and put tons on it in our time. It survived multiple 300 mile trips with lots of equipment (bought land 300 miles away, weekend trips up to work on clearing so think saws, weedwackers, etc) and 3 kids. Seats were surprisingly comfy, infotainment was actually very nice (especially having Android Auto).
Worst: A 2016 Kia Sedona that we rented for a 700 each way trip because at that point our old van was on its last legs. Sounds weird, but there were too many features. It felt like I was in a 747 cockpit being up front, with a panel of buttons and switches doing who knows what on the ceiling and in the center console. Things were placed so weirdly that at one point, while trying to find one button, we accidentally turned on all the interior lights and couldn't turn them off. Issue was this was right as we were getting out of the car for the night, and because the doors were open we didn't realise they had been on until the morning, when the battery died. This was at a ski resort in the blue ridge mountains, and the nearest Hertz was at a regional airport about 50 miles away. They sent AAA for the van and a friendly guy came out to pick us up and bring us to the airport, where our van was sitting with a new battery waiting. A+ customer service, but the van itself was way too weird. Also the seats felt like rocks.
That's not to mention the fact that when we picked it up, the employee didn't notice a big chunk of taillight cover missing, and we only noticed while getting gas on the way out. We stopped by Home Depot and taped on one of those red flags you put on the end of long loads. It held up for well over 1500 miles
