Haha no need to kiss their butt on here. Echoing what previous poster said. I hope you build good relations with the staff and all, and of course it's better to be pleasant and courteous than to be rude or arrogant towards other people, but realistically companies like Hertz exist to make money for their shareholders and top executives. They don't care about you.
I've personally also had plenty of horrible experiences renting nicer cars from Hertz. I spend a significant part of my year in Hertz cars for vacation/driving purposes. I am young, look younger, and intentionally underdress when going about my day in regular society, so I almost always get treated like a criminal by Hertz, especially when I rent their nicer cars. They tried to refuse to give me the Shelby GT-H I reserved for bogus reasons. A couple weeks ago I rented their Hendrick Camaro and they literally quizzed me on my driver's license while holding it, assuming I gave them a fake ID. They checked the tires and compared to other Hendrick Camaros when I returned it to make sure I didn't swap them out (a known rental car scam).
