There is another way
If you search around the BA EC or 1W there was a mention of an Iberia club fare for quite a reasonable price around Christmas off London. Something like US$1500 from memory. Route LHR-MAD/BCN-JNB. This would get round your bottleneck of LHR-JNB and still be oneworld.
I will see if anything else comes to mind. Did you try off Vancouver? What about going into NBO and changing onto Regional/Comair as BA are selling through fares with that change on offer.
