Not looking at internet or social media opinions, but purchasing behaviour, my best guess is that 90+ percent of guests fall in the whatever group. If I am wrong, you'll see Marriott changing, but I doubt it will happen. Convenience of location and price will far beat the fear of the bigger soap dispensers, or the fear of sending too much plastic in to the environment.
I would argue the tide has shifted and continues to do so towards being green. Therefore, while the whatever group may not actively be adamant, the messaging and general societal "awareness" is higher and therefore are accepting of changes in the goal of being green.

We've seen this trend with the plastic straws and plastic bottle things (that get stuck on turtles) and many others. Some were adamantly pro, most went along with it as it wasn't a big deal and it was helping the planet in some capacity and
there were some people losing their mind about it; there was a small minority of people who were also purposely polluting after the EPA regulations... That wasn't a stand that aged well at all.
