So, the new catering plan for Turkish Airlines has been revealed in several Turkish aviation websites. Here is the post you're looking for about the new catering concept.
To minimize crew and passenger contact;
- No tea/coffee would be served
- No alcohol would be served in Economy Class
- No welcome drink and hot towels would be served on Business Class
- No glassware would be used in Business Class, drinks would be served in bottles, cans
- No menu cards would be provided
- For soft drinks, individual canned and bottled drinks would be served.
- Long-haul movie bar ( snack bar ) service would be discontinued.
Domestic Flights:
- Only a bottle of water would be provided in both Economy and Business Class.
Short Haul up to 2 hours ( eg. Tel Aviv, Athens, Bucharest... )
- Only a bottle of water would be provided in both Economy and Business Class.
Medium Haul between 2 and 8 hours ( eg. Mumbai, Paris, Stockholm, London, Addis Ababa... )
Business Class: A box containing a sandwich, a mezze ( cold starter ), a salad, a dessert, water would be served. Drinks would be served. Additionally, crackers would be served on flights longer than 5 hours.
Economy Class: A picnic box with a sandwich, a pre-packed cake, a juice and water would be served. In longer flights a second picnic box would be served, however, the sandwich and the cake would have different flavor.
Long Haul more than 8 hours ( List Below )
Business Class:
First Service: A box would be given including a sandwich/wrap, a salad, 2 mezzes ( cold starters ), 1 dessert, chips, pide ( soft bread ), water. Drinks would be served.
Second Service: A box containing a sandwich, a mezze ( cold starter ), a salad, a dessert, water would be served. Drinks would be served.
Economy Class:
First Service: A box with a sandwich, a salad, a dessert, a juice and water would be served.
Second Service: A picnic box with a sandwich, a pre-packed cake, a juice and water would be served.
It's unknown until when this type of reduced service would continue. We'll all see. Here is the hygiene distribution of the cabin crew.
On shorter flights with narrow-body aircraft, the purser would be in charge of Business Class, crew
#1 and
#2 would be responsible of Economy class, crew
#3 would be responsible for hygiene/toilet cleaning and would not involve in meal services.
On shorter flights with A330 and 787 wide-body aircraft, the senior purser would be responsible for the Business Class galley, the purser
#2 would be in charge of Business Class, purser
#1 and crew
#3 would be responsible for the left aisle of Economy Class, crew
#1 and crew
#2 would be responsible for the right aisle of Economy Class, crews

#6 would be responsible for hygiene/toilet cleaning and would not involve in meal services.
On shorter flights with 777-300ER wide-body aircraft, the senior purser would be responsible for the Business Class galley, crew
#8 would be in charge of the left aisle of Business Class, crew
#9 would be in charge of the right aisle of Business Class, purser
#2 would be responsible for the Economy Class galley, purser
#1 and crew
#3 would be responsible for the left aisle of Economy Class, crew
#1 and crew
#2 would be responsible for the right aisle of Economy Class, crews

Medium-Long haul procedure is similar, one crew responsible for hygiene/toilets would always be available and on both rest shifts, there would be at least one of them available.
