If you are flying to JMK you will have to enter Schengen/Switzerland to board your flight but you can do so provided you remain in the "transit zone". So staying overnight at the Transit Hotel and going through passport control to your gate in the morning should be fine. It looks like the UK government's advice does not take into account it is possible to remain in the transit zone overnight. It is also possible that by the time of your trip border restrictions in Switzerland will have been revised .
Thanks for that! Yes let's see what happens, its almost 2 months away, will revisit with you guys closer to the date.
I was initially worried that you are not allowed to sleep overnight in Zurich, but now there is a transit hotel that solves that issue, prices aren't too bad for Switzerland either.
