Due the worldwide travel halt I cannot visit a friend in Thailand whose birthday is next month, to make matters worse my friend is also seriously ill (not covid-19 related). As far as I am aware the postal service is still running. Hopefully I can send a birthday present using the postal service from the UK to Thailand, which will be a suprise for my friend. However, I need to ensure I have the residential address written in the correct order on the parcel. Should I write the address on the parcel in English or Thai or both? Also, I am confused about writing the village (muban). The wikipedia page (
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thai_addressing_system) puts this on the first row after the plot/house number, but my friend writes this on a line between the province (changwat) and the province postal code. Can I just write for the village 'Moo #' after the plot/house number rather than the village name (which my friend has written with a different name to that on the street sign)? Finally, is the seconel line for the road to be the soi the house is on?
I am sure this is all obvious to those in the know but I want to make sure I get it correct so that the post will arrive. Thanks
