According to the Wall Street Journal, "Delta and Virgin Atlantic will replace British Airways PLC (BAB) which is leaving the [2-for-1 international airline] program because of a dispute with American Express over transaction fees paid by the airline."
As many of you know, British Airways was one of few carriers to offer first class, and the only carrier to offer truly flat beds.
Also, Delta's and Virgin's destination lists are very limited, with Virgin working onto to London and Delta working only to Athens, Brussels, Buenos Aires, Guatemala City, Istanbul, Panama City, San Jose (Costa Rica), and San Salvador.
