No, that's not the case. I think there were some reports that Qantas had done this and speculation that BA would follow, but it hasn't happened. The only thing I've noticed is that we are still stuck on the March release of new films, so we haven't progressed since Motherless Brooklyn.
I personally remember reading here that on a BA flight ( after COVID ) that the IFE system was closed.
Maybe that was because of technical issues or something else.
