Empty first row?

A friend of mine received an e-mail from Aegean today with the details of a booking she had made months ago. After spending a few minutes wondering why they would resend the booking details, she realised they had moved her from row 1 to row 2, without any warning.

I tried booking a business class ticket on various Aegean flights, including some in 2021, and on every flight the first row now appears to be occupied.

Could this be an attempt to protect their crew from infected passengers? I seriously doubt this will be effective when they have to walk up and down the aisle all the time. Or maybe protect the food preparation area from someone coughing and sneezing in row 1? Or maybe they want to always have the first row free for any passengers requiring medical assistance? Business passengers won't be happy if every sick person is brought to the front.

Anyone have any better ideas or any actual info?
