The borders will not be open. I am in NZ now and there is even discussion of a trans-Tazman border bubble not being possible until late August or September and thats JUST for NZ and AUS citizens. To be up front its going to be January 2021 before I would look at trying to come to NZ or Australia.
FYI UA and Air NZ have kept scheduled service (albeit greatly reduced) during all of this for NZ/AUS citizens to return home and cargo. Its not for tourists. Some days (less than 10 days in the month) VA has run some flights to LAX, but again for the same reasons as above.
