Exactly. So this, which you wrote, "For example, booking an Iberia Basic fare on BA metal means Silver and Gold card holders will receive seat allocations plus one item of checked baggage free of charge, " is wrong. Flying on BA operated flights in basic economy, your tier is worthless in regards to checked-in baggage allowance. This is independent of the marketing carrier.

Also, on non-stop flights itīs straightforward. It getīs very complicated on connecting itineraries. From my experience, on connecting itineraries it depends on the first operating carrier.
