Social distancing on a plane is certainly not impossible. Here in Germany, shops, restaurants and cafes are allowed only one customer per 10 square metres, and customers must stay 1.5m apart, and it would possible to impose similar restrictions on aviation. Whether that is necessary is, of course, open to debate.
We also need to discuss whether German's forcing cafe customers to wear swim noodles on their heads to enforce distancing is actually necessary .....
