When I mentioned the 12 May DoT guidance, the agent said that UA is aware of that guidance but is still "reviewing" it and, at this time, has chosen not to modify its current policy to refuse refunds for changes under 6hrs.
The outbound is next week. Will canceling the flight and accepting FFC/ETC affect the possibility of getting a refund in the future? The agent refused to cancel without issuing an FFC/ETC.
Well, if true that is some real typical United hubris. I hope DOT takes note.
