It depends of what you classify as travel insurance. If going to some places, you invalidate your health insurance, personal liability insurance or similar... well... then it could be very costly. If it is just about a travel insurance in its literal sense, covering for missed/canceled flight, ruined vacation etc... then yes... often it doesn't make sense to take out a dedicated travel insurance
