I think you can safely say that Eurofleet crew like being home most nights, probably due to family or other commitments.

You're ignoring the other side of the coin too. Many WorldWide crew don't live anywhere near Heathrow. Some live abroad. They commute in for their three trips per month and then head home, with a 4-5 day gap each time. There is no way that these crewmembers can do short haul and BA is effectively forcing them to resign (surprisingly, taking a 50% pay cut and moving to London from somewhere far cheaper is not hugely appealing).
