Basically, the purchase page (before your payment information is taken and processed) showed the total miles including any bonus miles. That was very clear. Regardless of logging in time, the purchase page was like a binding contract - you get what's on that page. I always make sure to look at the miles total before buying.
Except I've already given an example of another AC promotion where the bonus miles were not indicated anywhere during the purchase flow, so the only reason your argument makes any sense is because that's how it worked
here, not because that's how it generally works, or has worked in the past.
