Most of the time, I answer a dozen or so questions that are clearly designed to collect demographic info to be sold - and then I get the usual "this survey has already been filed by too many respondents like you". Usually it's just a few minutes and I do them while I'm tuning out yet another time wasting status call. But I just finished a survey that prompted me to cancel and block Miles for Opinions.
This was a survey for Harris Research, on automotive purchasing, and as a luxury car buyer in the market for a new car in the next 12 months, I seemed to hit their sweet spot. I spent close to an hour answering dozens and dozens of questions - many with 30-40 subquestions. The survey had a status bar showing percent complete, and when I got to the end, I received the standard "you don't fit the survey profile, here's 3 miles for your time". I know the surveys are only paying pennies an hour, but don't insult my intelligence by telling me I'm not a fit after I've completed the entire survey.
