Something else I factor in to whether or not I use points/cash is the 'insurance' cost. I'm willing to pay extra when I use WN points for the flexibility in cancelling vs purchasing insurance and submitting claims through the other legacies. It sometimes brings the cost to about the same price, with less headache!
