Simply owning property is not currently enough to enter Spain - I know several people who own holiday homes there who have not been able to go. To enter Spain, you need to have your residency document ready to show at the border for entry, the documentation proving that you are actually a resident of Spain. You only receive this document if you live in Spain for significant lengths of the year and are able to prove this at the migration office (whether EU or non EU).

Owning residential property will be more than enough — as in even unnecessary— for most in Europe if what the European governments are telling the airlines hold up.
