The
article is in French... In summary, local owners have acquired the only property still owned and operated by Loews in Canada. When it opened its doors in 1995, this was one of the most luxurious hotel in town. The new owner indicated that it will be reflagged as a 5-star Hilton property, but there was not mention of branding. It definitely has the boutique feel of a Curio or could arguably be rebranded as a Conrad. Not Waldorf or LXR material in my opinion. Hilton has been showing Montreal some love as of late - with the acquisition of the Hyatt (now DoubleTree Montreal) and a total rebuilt of a Best Western near the airport (now Doubletree Montreal Airport). They also added a Home2Suites property near the airport not that long ago.
