If you can get a table in Per Se, definitely go for it. Otherwise, I like Gramercy Tavern. Never disappointment, always understated. Veritas across the street is supposedly very good too.
For what its worth, Veritas selection is virtually unamtched at any other place in NY. For Italian, check out Il Mullino. So many places to eat here in NY. No one mentioned Daniel or any Bouley establishment. Enjoy!
