So if TXL closes this year and BER opens, then SXF will shut as an airport in its own right (Terminals have already been re-named to be incorporated into BER).
This would mean that Berlin can boast no fewer than four airports that have been shut in the last 25 years:
Gatow (GWW) 1995
Tempelhof (THF) 2008
Tegel (TXL) 2020
Schönefeld (SXF) 2020.
Is this some kind of a record (to be posted alongside the record for the longest-delayed opening of their successor BER)?
