UA has never documented the option to get an ETC. However, I just checked a future reservation, and I can confirm that I still have FFC and ETC options.
And I can confirm, I converted an FFC to an ETC yesterday. I really meant to do it by Thursday (in case), but completely forgot. Happy to see the option still yesterday. Super easy to convert too, once I was in the reservation, to took two clicks, and I had the email with ETC info. In seconds. Quite possibly the easiest task I’ve ever completed on United.com ever.
