Ah yes, but from the title of this thread you can probably guess I wasn't entirely happy with the choice - but I have a great aversion to paying the room rates that the Regal Hotel wants in late Oct. And yes I have stayed there before.

I do appreciate the information on the blue taxi and a guess at the rates, as the latter does give me a better basis to consider getting on the MTR as an alternative. But that alternative does complicate the morning schedule a bit.

We hadn't really planned on an extensive walking tour on the day as Mrs WF's arthritis is acting up a bit at the moment. An alternative question exists:
Is the silvermine a suitable place to base a somewhat longer stay in HKG with the option of spending a day in the "real city" but enjoying the rural setting.
given that the budget from rural Oz will not support Regal Airport room rates
even in the non-trade fair season. And there seems to be no other alternatives on Lantau that I can find on the internet though I did find a map or two that listed a few additional "H" markings with no identification

I would be open to suggestions 3* alternatives on Lantau......
