This was taken just before my 1 MM BIS flight on July 24, 2005 -HKG to ORD. I received an OP-Upgrade for this flight at check-in counter. I was told there were 63 passengers on the upgrade list and I was the only one cleared. To this day, it still puzzles me why I got the upgrade if there were 63 on the upgrade list which means they were supported by SWU/points, and I was only a lowly 1P without requesting for an upgrade. I take it as UA took care of me on my MM flight.
N105UA has been the special 744 to me ever since until its retirement.

I took my last N105UA flight on July 20, 2007 - PEK to SFO, and below are the photos taken before boarding:
The "battleship grey" remains my favorite UA livery scheme. My
best better flight experiences were mostly during the "battleship grey" period. I also liked the "tulip-on-white" livery on the L-1011 and B74L, another memorable period for me.
