I think it's funny how many people are already talking about "pre-vaccine" and "post-vaccine," when it is far from clear whether there will ever be one. Many diseases and viruses have been around for much longer than this one, with no vaccine in sight: AIDS, Ebola, malaria, even the common cold. Treatments, yes, but vaccines? Nobody really knows if, let alone when. This virus has already mutated into many different strains, and is likely to continue to do so. No one even knows for sure whether having had the virus, and having the antibodies, is protective at all against getting it again. There are even people who had it, then "recovered" and tested negative three times, later dropped dead despite being asymptomatic, and the autopsy revealed the virus was still alive deep in the cells of the lungs. While we all want to hope for the best, I would recommend managing those expectations. Even the "treatment" remdesivir only shortens the longevity of the illness by a few days. It's not a cure.
