Post-vaccine, absolutely!
Pre-vaccine, the *A partners will work together to avoid mutually assured destruction. I can see:
1. SIN: Split with SQ on west coast (split = SQ or UA running 1 flight/day)
2. HKG: SQ exiting HKG, UA 1/day to HKG
3. DEL: UA probably ceding to AI from west coast. Split from east coast
4. FRA: UA probably ceding to LH from west coast. Split from east coast
5. TPE: Split with Eva on west coast
6. ICN: Split with Asiana on west coast
7. JNB: Switching EWR-CPT to EWR-JNB if South African goes under
So not only is the partner chart pulled, but many competing flights will disappear in the short term, meaning expensive mileage tickets.
