Regarding the Terry robe, it has been my experience at all higher end hotels (Hilton, Doubletree, Hyatt, Marriott) that all you need to do is place a call to the front desk and ask for robes to be sent up and they will be ... no special status required. I'm surprised more people don't do this. We have never been refused in hotels that actually have guest robes. Even when staying on Priceline rates
