One advantage of e-tickets is that in the event of changes between now and the time you fly (due to say, changes in scheduling/equipment, and a myriad other things than can pop up), you wouldn't have to go the airport to get your ticket re-issued.

FYI, UA is currently in bankruptcy (Chapter 11). In the (generally thought of as) unlikely event that UA had to liquidate between now and March (Chapter 7), having a paper award ticket with a partner may not necessarily result in that partner honoring the award.
I'm not sure exactly what are you confused about.
If what you want to know is, is there a way that you can get a MP award ticket for next march that is absolutely guaranteed to be honored by somebody regardless of what happens to UA? The answer is simple. There is not.
