I called again - basically nothing for me (Amex must have me pegged as a low cancel risk). I did get some interesting tidbits

1) The agent referenced new announcements regarding enhancements to the “high fee” cards - they should be announced by May 7 at the latest (though the agent said they could be announced on May 1 or 2). The agent also said that the Amex Gold is not likely to see enhanced benefits.

2) I was told I had the ability to downgrade my Bonvoy Brilliant to the $95 fee card - note that this Brilliant is a new account (it wasn’t upgraded from a prior $95 fee card).
