I'd love to see a CX Lifetime Diamond programme. Right now I maintain both a Diamond card plus the extra points to get to 1,800 and a BA gold card with the extra points to get to what BA calls a GUF2, like the CX Bookable Upgrades. I'm now within striking distance of BA's Lifetime Gold and I've done almost 4 million miles on CX since I've been in Hong Kong. Given a choice I'd much rather go with a CX lifetime programme because I definitely prefer the airline. But it doesn't seem that it's going to be resurrected (accepting that we don't have a crystal ball) so I'm going to prioritise getting the BA Lifetime Gold over this year and next so I have that tucked away. I'm unsure whether I'll actually be able to renew Diamond this year as I'm one of those in the January-April member year renewals window (where we didn't actually get a membership year extension) so I may just have to abandon the CX programme altogether (much to my surprise as I would never have imagined saying that before the Covid-19 situation) and go just for the BA Lifetime Gold offer. There's little prospect of any travel in the next few months though so that gives me plenty of time to decide what the best thing to do is.
