Same message 2 hours later, able to log in 12 hours later, same message again 12 hours later, cleared saved passwords and favorites, same message. Comforting to read that I’m not the only one, hope it doesn’t turn into a “misery loves company” thing, hope it isn’t an omen of (worse) things to come, hope “system maintenance thing” is correct.
