but agree suspect they realized they need to diversify and seek new O&D market segment away from existing captive corporate base. Probably old I fare becomes where P is, with new "I" fare similar to Emirate's "bare-bone" J fare with no seat reservation, no lounge access, limited luggage, and limiting other frills, whilst those perks are readily available to those with status anyways. Not sure if airlines have luxury of talking about "not cannibalizing" on corp J/C/D segment, because i don't see those coming back in fashion we saw.
I would be a buyer of those bare-bone I fare as long as these aren't "non-changeable/refundable"
