Those shield devices are ridiculous as they try to replace the use of a simple mask.

Far less expensive for airlines to require passengers to wear clothe masks while on board.

Well that's the simple answer for the airlines, plastic coverings over the seats and arm rests that are removed and discarded after every flight.

Much better than "disinfecting spray" which does not really work and someone will react to.

This will allow airlines to keep the current seats so much less expensive than other options depicted.
PS: Wet wiping seats won't even come close to getting at viral material in the seat fabric/or other type of material used in seat construction.
