thanks very much for your advice and thoughts. I have been messaged by QA on here who have said they will look into the matter again. Fingers crossed for a positive outcome.
For what it’s worth the below is what I was advised by the CAA:
Qatar Airways have previously assessed the disruption of this flight and have informed us that it is of a type which means that compensation is payable. It appears that the disruption could be considered as inherent in the normal operation of an airline.
I will wait for the response of QA before I do anything else, but will look into the options suggested further if I have no luck.
