I read that it is illegal to bring sudafed and some prescription medication into Japan. Does customs generally search the bags of Americans entering the country?

Would they just confiscate this stuff if they found it? I am going next month and take sudafed or a generic equivalent on a regular basis.

am I worrying for no reason?
