I would agree with that assumption but in actual fact, since I almost never check in with a real person, the challenge would come at the gate from a FA who wouldnt know they are challenging a platinum flyer (I don't use vanity tags)
Neither do I use the vanity tags, but the last time I checked in with a "real person" when flying KLM, from Berlin, he wanted to charge me 45 Euro to check a bag, even after producing my Platinum card
