I think AirNZ has missed the oppourtnity to do that, but it would have been a nice sweetner and perhaps in many cases the easier road. But for the large majority there is no option between credit or refund so they don't need to sweeten the deal. They may have had the oppourtunity to have avoided some refunds however where the customer did have the option or one of the other
