I too have a larger-than-allowed carry-on -- in fact, my carry-on is exactly the size allowed by Transavia, the low-cost carrier of the AFKL group --
55 x 40 x 25cm
Meanwhile, AF is 55 x 35 x 25 cm. I dont understand this size, smaller than Transavia. And btw, AF's newest sizers (which you can see at the new Terminal in Orly) really are dinky and tiny.
Anyway, i ve never been sized. Once or twice, my carry-on was weighted, and I was forced to check it --- but i am Platinum, so I didn't have to pay. Just an annoyance. Never had to go in the sizer, if that's your concern
Edit; I tried the newest AF sizer at Orly, since i had time. My luggage didn't fit. It fit Transavia's sizer perfectly. All this to say, the newest sizers for AF really are at a smaller dimension (and they look smaller, visibly)
